Rainbow Dip Platter

Rainbow Dip Platter by Trois Petits Coeurs

Living in France calls for always being ready for an aperitif, otherwise known as the time from about 7:30 to 9 p.m. where the French train for their actual meal. It’s actually one of my favorite things about France, not rushing to the table and having a nice glass of wine or champagne and some interesting conversation before dinner. However, sometimes the aperitif takes the form of a meal in and of itself which is called the aperitif dinatoire and I think I’ve started to master this one out of necessity since often times my husband will call at 5 p.m. to let me know a handful of friends are coming over. With only a few hours to prepare, I’ve found a few quick and easy items that not only taste delicious, but look great as well.

My all time favorite is this pea pesto recipe, which I found is a favorite of most everyone who tries it. This silky hummus recipe is great with this easy to make homemade pita and this traditional guacamole is served up best with these healthier semi-homemade tortilla chips. If you want to go for some more non-traditional dips try this roasted carrot or this sweet and smokey eggplant.

Bon Appétit!
